Squidoo lens SEO - Optimize your Squidoo lens for better Search engine rankings!

To rank good in search engines you have to do SEO. This means Search Engine Optimization! You have to do things that I will mention below, so spiders as they are called will find you more easily and rank you better in search engines for yours main keyword.

Why is good to do SEO for Squidoo lenses?

You have to know that you want that a lot of people come to your page! Why? Now you know if you rank good on Squidoo you can make a decent amount of money. Let say that you have only 20 lenses and out of these 20 lenses you have 4 lenses in tier 1, 6 lenses in tier 2 and 10 lenses in tier 3! That’s about 4x50 + 6x10 + 10x1 = 270$. Not bad huh? That is not all you can double or triple this amount if you rank well in search engines (like Google). Think about it! You have a lens which is one out of first 10 results on Google when people write keyword that is related to your lens. Let’s take an example. You are writing about a recipe of cookies which you have made yesterday. People like what you are writing about and you also mention a baking mat that is good and you always use it. On Squidoo we have Amazon and EBay modules so you can choose this product on amazon and promote it to your lens! From every sale you made you make commission. You can promote anything you want! Let’s say that 1000 people come to your lens and out of them only 10% buy a baking cup. Now we can do the math! You are promoting a baking cup that cost 20$, 100 people buy it, that’s 2000$ and out of this you make 10% so that comes to 200$ with promoting just one product on one lens...

 

Improve SEO on your lenses!

1. 1.     When you are making a new lens try to find keywords that are searched a lot and have low competition. You can help with Google keyword tool!
   2.     Now you have your keywords go to Squidoo and click start a new lens! Put your main keywords in your URL.
   3.     Give your lens a nice Title that will attract your readers!
   4.     Tags! Insert tags which you will use in your lens and are related to your topic! (When you will be writing the lens add more tags similar to your topic that Squidoo suggest, you can add more tags on tags widget on the right!)
   5.     Titles of modules! Try to give titles of modules which will include your main keywords! (most important are the first 2)
   6.     Text! Write at least 300 words and try to add some new text every now and then!
   7.     Keyword density! Write and use your main keywords from 3%-8%. To check keyword density click here.
   8.     Update your lens every day!
   9.     Link building! Get link from other pages pointing to your site! You can do this by posting on forums, social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and comment on blogs…
